  • What is Check out time?

    Check out time is 10:00 a.m. as we must ready the cottage for incoming guests. You are welcome to use the facilities for the rest of the day.

  • What happens if we can't arrive until very late at night?

    For any one arriving after the office closes, please let us know ahead of time and the lights will be on and the door open.

  • Are there grocery stores nearby?

    There are two country general stores nearby providing for basic needs.

    The village of Dwight is 5 minutes away with a larger general store with a fresh meat market. There is also an LCBO.

    Huntsville is 20 minutes away and has supermarkets and a larger LCBO with a Vintage section.

  • Are there restaurants nearby?

    There are many restaurants during peak season ranging from a roadside diner to elegant dining, all within a 30 minute drive.

  • What about smoking in the rooms?

    The majority of our guests favour a non-smoking holiday environment, we have therefore introduced a no smoking policy within our rooms/cottages.

    If it is evident that there was smoking in the room (including bathrooms) a $250 recovery fee to cover the cost of restoring the room to a smoke free condition will be levied.

  • Is there a noise Bylaw?

    Behaviour that infringes on other guest enjoyment of their vacation will not be tolerated.

    Excess noise making, partying, loud music or otherwise creating a nuisance may result in being asked to leave.

    After 11:00 PM is quiet time.

  • Can we have an out door Bonfire?

    There is a safe area at the beach for evening Bonfires. Free wood is available at the site.

  • Are there payphones on the property?

    A payphone is available in the Office. It accepts both coins and credit cards. Phone cards are available for purchase at the Front Desk.

  • Do you baby furniture?

    We have full size cribs, travel cots, play pens, and high chairs for rent.

  • Is ice available?

    All units are equipped with refrigerator and ice trays. Extra ice can be purchased from the Front Desk.

  • Do you have laundry facilities?

    Yes we have coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer located in the Main Lodge.

  • Will we have to bring bed linen/towels etc?

    The accommodations are fully equipped for all your likely holiday requirements. All linens, towels, dishes, and cutlery are included.

    A small initial supply of dish soap/dishwasher powder, and toilet paper rolls, etc. are provided.

    We do not supply beach towels.

  • Where can our pets stay?

    There are several fine kennels in the area.

  • How far away is Algonquin Park?

    Algonquin Park is only a 5 minute drive to the West Gate.

  • Is there internet connectivity?

    We have free Wi-Fi internet for our guests

  • Is there additional parking areas for cars and trailers?

    Yes, we have a large property and if you require additional space for trailers or extra vehicles we should be able to accommodate you..

  • How is the fishing?

    In the Spring we fish for trout and in the summer Small mouth bass are the prize.
